Sexual Health Nurse Promotional Events:
• Sexual Health Clinics held monthly
• HIV/AIDS Hotline available 24 hours 7days a week
• Women’s Wellness Day-Early Spring or Late Fall
• Girl’s/Guys Night Out, Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Program-Early Spring or Late Fall
• HIV/AIDS Awareness Week-Last Week in November of each year
• HIV/AIDS Community Newsletter-Coincide with HIV Awareness Week
• World AIDS Day-December1 of each year
Important Health Teachings Related to Program:
• If you are choosing to be sexual active, protect yourself and use a Condom. Use a condom every time you have sex.
• Abstinence is the only 100% effective method of Birth Control that will protect you against any Sexually Transmitted Diseases or an unplanned pregnancy. ABSTINENCE or monogamy!
• If your thinking about having sexual intercourse with your partner, you both should go for testing to ensure that you are both STD FREE!
• Know your sexual partner’s history. If your afraid to ask then maybe you shouldn’t be engaging in sexual activities with that partner.
• Avoid or limit your use of drugs and alcohol as they can impair your judgment regarding the use of birth control.
