School Nurse Program
|

 The School Nurse Program
consists of many activities
throughout the school year
that pertain to students'
overall health and
well-being.
Services that are
included under
the School Nurse
Program are:
- Medical and/or Health Conditions of students at each elementary school on Six Nations
- Medication Administration
- Audio and Visual Screening
- Health Education classes as set out by the Ontario School Cirriculum along with other health classes on various topics: i.e. Good Touch/Bad Touch, Medication Safety
- First Aid Treatment at each school and for each sporting event
- Individual/Classroom Counselling at the parent/teacher request
- Being a coordinator at the Jump Rope for Heart event at the various schools
- Teaching classes from JK - Grade 8 on injury prevention programs
- The School Nurse Program is utilized as a referral services to other agencies under Health Services for students, parents
- Pediculosis Program
- Resource/Liaison for teachers, parents
- Assist Public Health with the immunization status of all Six Nations elementary students
- Assist Public Health with Preschool screenings
- Assist Public Health with Diabetes Screening for grades 4-8
- Conduct Kindergarten Orientations for each school
